A private four-day expedition designed to discover Yasuní through photography, combining exploration of different habitats, wildlife observation and the guidance of a private naturalist specialized in photography.

DAY 01

Arrival in the Heart of Yasuní

The experience begins with a flight from Quito to Coca, followed by a private transfer to the dock. From there, you will travel for approximately two hours along the Napo River before continuing by paddle canoe through Añangu Creek to Napo Wildlife Center. From the very first journey, opportunities may arise to photograph birds, monkeys and other rainforest inhabitants as you slowly enter the Yasuní territory. Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome, a brief introduction to the expedition and time to settle in before beginning to explore the surroundings of the lodge.
DAY 02

First Photography Sessions in Yasuní

Begin a full day of photographic exploration across different rainforest environments. Depending on conditions, you may explore forest trails, lagoons, narrow creeks and observation areas in search of birds, mammals, reptiles and natural scenes. The pace of the day is designed to allow time for careful observation, patience and making the most of changing light conditions. Your private naturalist guide specialized in photography will accompany you throughout the outings and, at the end of the day, will lead an image review to discuss composition, focus, light, framing and camera settings.
DAY 03

Wildlife, New Habitats and Night Photography

Continue exploring Yasuní through new environments, combining journeys through forest, waterways and observation areas. Depending on conditions, the day may include experiences such as observation towers, clay licks, silent navigation or rainforest trails. The day follows a slower pace to make the most of photographic opportunities and to prepare for a possible night walk, when the rainforest reveals a completely different side and insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal species may become active. The day concludes with another photography review session alongside your guide.
DAY 04

Final Photographic Moments and Departure

After breakfast, begin the return journey from the lodge by paddle canoe through Añangu Creek. This final navigation may still offer opportunities to observe and photograph wildlife before continuing by motorized boat along the Napo River toward Coca. Upon arrival, assistance will be provided for your transfer to the airport and your return flight to Quito, bringing your photography expedition in Yasuní to an end.

DAY 01

Arrival in the Heart of Yasuní

The experience begins with a flight of approximately 30 minutes from Quito to Coca, followed by a private transfer to the Napo Wildlife Center dock. From there, you will travel for approximately two hours along the Napo River aboard a covered motorized boat. Upon reaching the welcome area, you will continue by paddle canoe through Añangu Creek toward the lodge. During this first journey, opportunities may arise to observe and photograph birds, monkeys and, with some luck, caimans or giant otters. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink and snacks, followed by a brief introduction to your stay before settling into your cabin.
DAY 02

Beginning the Photography Exploration

Begin the first of three full days dedicated to discovering the extraordinary biodiversity of Yasuní through photography. Paddle-canoe excursions will be one of the main elements of the experience, allowing you to move quietly through lagoons, rivers and narrow creeks while observing and photographing wildlife. Forest trails, observation areas and different rainforest environments will provide changing conditions of light, perspective and wildlife activity throughout the day. At the end of the day, your guide will lead a photography review session focused on composition, light, focus, framing and camera settings.
DAY 03

Wildlife Between Forest and Water

Continue exploring Yasuní through terra firme trails, flooded forest, waterways and observation areas. The experience may also include visits to observation towers, offering elevated views over the rainforest canopy and new opportunities to photograph birds, landscapes and wildlife among the treetops. When conditions are favorable, the day may include a visit to the protected parrot and parakeet clay lick, where birds and other animals may descend to feed on mineral-rich clay. The day concludes with another photography review and feedback session alongside your guide.
DAY 04

Photography, Culture and the Rainforest After Dark

The expedition continues with additional opportunities to explore Yasuní at a slower photography-focused pace, remaining attentive to the sounds, movements and unexpected wildlife encounters that arise throughout the day. The experience also includes a visit to the Kuri Muyu Interpretation Center, where you can learn more about the culture, traditions and relationship between the Kichwa Añangu Community and the Amazon territory. One of the exploration days will follow a more relaxed rhythm, leaving time to enjoy the surroundings and prepare for a night walk. After sunset, the rainforest reveals a different world, offering opportunities to photograph insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal wildlife. At the end of the day, a final photography review session will help you analyze your images and reflect on the expedition.
DAY 05

Final Photographic Moments and Departure

Very early in the morning, you will begin the return journey by paddle canoe toward the welcome area. As you travel through Añangu Creek, the sounds of the rainforest and the first light of dawn provide one final opportunity to enjoy and photograph the Amazon landscape. You will then continue by motorized boat toward Coca. Upon arrival, assistance will be provided for airport check-in and your return flight to Quito, bringing your photography expedition in Yasuní to an end.
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The itinerary and activities may be adjusted according to weather, logistical and safety conditions, Yasuní National Park regulations, the interests of the group and the natural behavior of wildlife. Swimming in Añangucocha Lagoon is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.

Lagoons, narrow creeks, rivers and forest trails provide constantly changing settings for observing and photographing birds, mammals, reptiles and the smaller details of the tropical rainforest. The pace of the day allows time to move slowly, listen to the forest and remain alert for unexpected wildlife encounters throughout the Amazon. At the end of the day, you will once again review your images with your guide in preparation for the following outings.
DAY 04

New Perspectives from the Canopy

The expedition continues through different environments of Yasuní. Among the planned experiences are observation towers, offering elevated views over the rainforest canopy and new opportunities to photograph birds, landscapes and wildlife among the treetops. The day may also include forest walks and silent navigation, always adapting to weather conditions and the natural behavior of wildlife. The day concludes with another photography review and feedback session alongside your guide.

No. The expedition is designed for both experienced photographers and travelers who want to develop their skills and learn more about nature and wildlife photography.

Yes. The Wildlife Photography Tour includes a private naturalist guide specialized in photography, allowing the pace of the activities to adapt to the opportunities the rainforest presents.

We recommend bringing the equipment you are most comfortable using. Telephoto lenses are especially useful for wildlife, while wider lenses are ideal for landscapes, rainforest environments and storytelling images. Protection against humidity, spare batteries and sufficient memory cards are also recommended.

No. All wildlife lives freely in its natural habitat. Our guides use their knowledge of the territory and animal behavior to maximize observation and photography opportunities while always respecting the natural behavior of each species.

Not necessarily. Excursions may be adjusted according to weather, wildlife activity, operational conditions and the photographic opportunities that arise during the expedition.

The main difference is the amount of time available in the field. The 4-day expedition includes two full exploration days, the 5-day option includes three, and the 6-day expedition provides four full days dedicated to photography and wildlife observation.
