WOW. This is all I can express after spending 4 nights/5 days at the lodge. We saw so many cool animals and experience living in the Amazon basin in luxury!! For anyone looking for a comfortable wildlife experience, bird watching, seeing monkeys and being well fed and serviced... look no further. Trip of a lifetime for us!Posted on Google![]()

Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff and a magnificent location. A real privilege to stay here. I was so taken by the monkeys, blackwater, and Kichwan culture (though the Chicha was always a bit tough for me) that I didn’t even notice my stay would make me an avid lifelong birder.Posted on Google![]()

Wow! We had a fantastic experience at Napo WC! We highly recommend it. It was the Amazonian adventure we were hoping for. Even getting to the lodge is an adventure (in a good way!). One of the most important aspects/benefits of Napo WC is that it is developed by, owned by, and run by the local indigenous community! It provides economic opportunities for the local community. The community support aspect of Napo WC adds so much to the great vibe of your visit. After flying to the city of Coca, you are transported to their building on the river where you relax for a few minutes, meet your naturalist guide and your indigenous native guide. They will be with your group throughout your stay. You then board a motorized canoe for a 2 hr trip down the Napo river. The ride itself is fun, exciting and great sightseeing. Upon arrival at the Napo WC welcoming area located where a stream flows into the Napo river you get a refreshment and then you board small "dugout" canoes which are paddled by your guides and a third staff member in the rear (the "motor"). The paddle to the lake the lodge is on could be done in an hour, but it takes about 2 hours since the guides are frequently stopping to point out the exotic wildlife along the stream. This is your first activity and you haven't even gotten to the lodge yet! The lodge is beautiful and fits your dream of an Amazonian lodge. The central building is a tall, tall pagoda style tower with multilevel thatched roofs. You'll take all you meals here. There is an elevator to the top which affords amazing views of the surrounding jungle. The rooms are individual thatched huts with all the amenities you could want. Hot showers, electricity, nice bed with mosquito netting that they lower for you every night. A beautiful porch that looks out on the lake. The rooms are serviced every day. Very clean. The only noise issues are all the wonderful birds and monkeys that you hear in the surrounding jungle. The food is delicious and served buffet style. Your naturalist guide joins you for all meals. That's were you get briefed on your upcoming activities. The activities are fantastic. We stayed 3 nights. Everyday you do a morning activity and then return to the lodge for lunch or take a lunch at the welcoming center that was paddled down the stream freshly for you. You then have an afternoon activity. Activities combine paddling into the jungle, short hikes, etc. The canoe paddles take you deep in to the jungle. The guides are amazing at pointing out birds and other wildlife (caiman, snakes, sloths, monkeys galore, river otters, lizards, insects, frogs, etc., etc.). I honestly don't know how they sited some of the birds and animals! They truly have a knowledge and familiarity with the jungle that is almost supernatural. On one trip you're paddled to a trail that takes you to a >100 ft tall platform in the jungle from which you can see a plethora of birds. The guides will even help you take pictures through their spotting scope so you get the most amazing shots. You're also taken to salt licks in the jungle where brightly colored parrots and macaws come to get necessary minerals. I felt the value of this trip was definitely worth the cost. Especially when you know you are helping an indigenous community sustain themselves in a natural relationship with their environment. Without this opportunity they would have to work in the petroleum industry or leave for the bigger cities. Napo WC is everything we ever imagined an Amazon visit could be. I cannot recommend this highly enough.Posted on Google![]()

What an amazing adventure. From the start to the finish of our 4 days we felt very well looked after by all the staff, who were very friendly and helpful The food was great . Our mind was put at rest straight away when it was explained that food was prepared very carefully . We enjoyed so many different dishes. The activities were well organised and we always felt very safe and well looked after by the paddlers and the guide . Even when viewing a caiman right next to our boat and also observing an anaconda. Many different birds, monkeys and a couple of sloths . Just a great few days and mind blowing to think we were in the Amazon 😊 Many thanks to the kitchua community and special thanks to our guide Jose and his assistant guide 😊 and paddler Ricardo also to Klever also a paddler ( they work so hard) Ps take a look at the non profit charity that you can sign up to to help out the local people in and around the areaPosted on Google![]()

Our visit to the Napo Wildlife Center exceeded expectations. From making initial arrangements for the 4 days / 3 nights Premium Tour with Yesel Bautista, to being greeted at the Quito airport, arriving in Coca and then speeding down the Napo River for about 2 hours, enjoying a leisurely 2-hour canoe ride along the Añangu Creek, to reaching our luxury accommodation at the Napo Wildlife Center, everything was extremely well planned and considered to ensure a rewarding experience. The small group experience, with 3 guests and 3 knowledgeable and helpful staff members, worked out very well. Naturalist Luis Espin, Local Guide Mariano, and Paddler Luis made sure that we saw as much of the flora and fauna as possible, while imparting their local knowledge and wisdom. I really appreciated learning about the history of the Kichwa people and their uses of local plants for building construction, daily living and medicinal uses. Just some of the wildlife we saw included caimans, turtles, frogs, thorny-tail iguana, lizards, snakes, and even an anaconda (having a nap). Monkeys (howler, tamarin, squirrel, wooly) could be heard and seen at various times of the day. Macaws, parrots, parakeets, toucans, cranes, eagles, hummingbirds, herons, kingfishers, hoatzin and butterflies were ubiquitous. The menus in the dining room were well thought out and the food was very good. All of the staff, and especially the lodge manager, were very friendly and approachable. There were several filtered water stations and after each excursion, we were greeted with a damp cloth and a cool beverage. The caps, water bottles and waterproof backpacks that they provided with the howler monkey logo were of high quality and very functional. I used my water bottle and backpack daily while travelling throughout the Galápagos Islands after leaving the rainforest. We were lucky to have fabulous weather, with no rain. And, my worry about mosquitos was for naught. There were a few, but a bit of natural mosquito repellent was sufficient. I highly recommend the Napo Wildlife Center to anyone who is considering exploring a rainforest region in South America.Posted on Google![]()

My wife, brother and sister in law stayed 4 days 17 years ago. It was incredible. Was just showing my son YouTube videos of the lodge. Brought back great memories. Can anyone tell me if our amazing canoe guide is still there? I believe his name was Sixto or something similar. Thank you.Posted on Google![]()

We loved our stay at Napa Wildlife Center. The lodge and rooms are exquisite - gleamingly clean. The staff is so pleased you're there and do whatever it takes to make the experience great. Our naturalist guide Guido was outstanding. He was so knowledgeable about animals and birds and did a great job using his scope to take pictures for us. The food is very good and they went over backwards to make sure there were vegetarian options for me - but if I wanted to eat something else, that was Ok too. We splurged for a room with a jacuzzi and it was private and really special. They set it up for us each day at the time we choose. We wanted to do a little more hiking and they adjusted our itinerary so that did that. Very flexible.
