5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS — Family Tour
A private five-day family expedition designed to discover Yasuní through nature, wildlife observation, culture and participatory activities, with a pace created so adults and children can enjoy every experience together.
Arrival in the Heart of Yasuní
The experience begins with an approximately 30-minute flight from Quito to Coca, followed by a private transfer to the Napo Wildlife Center dock. At this point, the guide will give the children their Rainforest Explorer Kit, specially prepared to accompany them throughout the entire experience. The kit includes an activity and mission passport, coloring book, colored pencils, a reusable water bottle with stickers and a drybag. From the dock, we will begin an approximately two-hour journey along the Napo River to the welcome area. There, we will switch to a paddle canoe and quietly enter Añangu Creek, with opportunities to observe birds, monkeys and other wildlife species. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will receive a welcome drink and snack before settling into your cabin. During the day, you will also have the opportunity to visit one of the observation towers and learn more about the activities planned for the following days.Exploring the Canopy and Rainforest
After breakfast, we will begin the day with a canoe ride along a small creek and a visit to one of the observation towers. From above, the whole family will be able to admire the Amazon canopy and look for birds, monkeys and other animals among the trees. Later, we will walk along terra firme forest trails, discovering trees, lianas, plants and other characteristic elements of Yasuní National Park. In the afternoon, another canoe outing will allow us to explore nearby creeks in search of caimans, otters, monkeys and other species that inhabit these ecosystems.Wildlife, Kichwa Culture and the Rainforest at Night
After breakfast, we will travel to one of Yasuní’s most iconic parrot clay licks, where, if conditions are favorable, we may observe different species of parrots and parakeets. We will then continue to a second clay lick protected by the Kichwa Añangu Community and later visit the Kuri Muyu Interpretation Center. Here, the family will learn more about Kichwa culture, traditions, music, dances and the ancestral use of natural resources. At night, those who wish to participate can join a night walk to discover insects, amphibians, arachnids, reptiles and other forms of life that become active after sunset.Family Cultural Exchange and Chocolate Experience
This will be one of the most participatory days of the experience. We will visit a family from the Kichwa Añangu Community to learn about their daily life, food, stories and traditional knowledge. Adults and children will have the opportunity to participate in harvesting some forest products and share a traditional lunch with the host family. In the afternoon, we will continue with an Amazonian chocolate experience, taking part in different stages of the process: selection, roasting, peeling, grinding and preparation. The experience will conclude with a chocolate tasting accompanied by fruit before returning to the lodge.Final Discoveries and Departure
Very early in the morning, we will begin the return journey by paddle canoe through Añangu Creek. During this final outing, the family can once again enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and remain alert for possible encounters with birds, monkeys and other species. Upon reaching the boarding area, we will continue by motorized boat along the Napo River toward Coca. Upon arrival, the corresponding transfer and check-in for the return flight to Quito will be arranged, bringing your family experience in Yasuní to an end.6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS — Family Tour

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know before traveling as a family
Is this tour specifically designed for families with children?
Yes. The program preserves the signature experiences of Napo Wildlife Center while following a pace designed for adults and children to actively participate in paddle canoe journeys, rainforest walks, observation towers, wildlife encounters and cultural activities.
What is included in the Rainforest Explorer Kit?
Each child receives a special kit including a drybag, activity passport, coloring book, colored pencils and a reusable water bottle with stickers to accompany them throughout the experience.
How does the activity passport work?
The passport accompanies children throughout the journey, and every mission is completed together with the guide. Through explanations, observation and hands-on activities, children complete challenges related to wildlife, plants, Kichwa words, observation towers and other elements of the Amazon. After each mission, they receive a stamp and add the corresponding sticker to record their progress.
Can the activities be adapted to the children’s pace?
Yes. The itinerary may be adjusted according to weather, operational and safety conditions, as well as each family’s dynamics. The program is designed to maintain an appropriate pace for families.
Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?
No. Wildlife lives freely in its natural habitat, so sightings depend on natural conditions and animal activity. Guides adapt the outings to make the most of the opportunities available each day.
What is the difference between the 5- and 6-day programs?
Both share the same main structure. The 6-day option adds an additional day of wildlife exploration through terra firme forest, swamp forest and surrounding creeks before departure.
